Thanks to the Cronin family for sending this adorable photo of their family with their rescued Dane boy Danny. Ryan is a long time Dane owner and volunteer in our group.
This is an unusual photo Barbara Slobodian sent us showing her two rescued Danes, Shawnee and Cochise at rest. Usually she sends us photos of the mess they created, or the pillow they destroyed.
Oh, now I get it! This is AFTER the destruction. (Destroying is tough work….)
Thanks to Barbara for putting up with these two!
More cute photos from Jill showing her son Jack enjoying the two Danes they adopted from Rescue. Here is what she wrote: “The girls are such fun and company for us all, including Jack. He and Ellie love to wrestle, play with toys, and snuggle. he says he loves them both, but has a special fondness for Ellie. As you can see though, Stella is right at home too and keeps us company by sitting as close to us as she can.”

Lily’s owners, Steve and Kathy, recently moved to Arizona and sent us these great photos and the paragraph on how Lily is faring in the heat:
“These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago – Lily, our wonderful rescue Dane, surveying her new digs (but she wont go in the pool). She has demonstrated that she can, in fact, easily jump over the decorative adobe wall – that’s why there is a 4 1/2 foot split rail fence outside of the decorative back yard. She’s seven now, but just as aware of life as she always has been – a little grayer around the muzzle, but otherwise no sign of slowing down. She’s always enjoyed laying in the sun, but in the last couple of months of 110+ temps, she usually only does it for about 8-10 minutes and then comes back into the air conditioning. When we were first here, it was only a mere 90, she lasted a lot longer. I think we’re all looking forward to the plummeting to 75 degrees and below in the next month or so.”
Our condolences to Dottie Poole and her family on the loss of her dear boy Jett. Dottie is a long time adopter and we appreciate the love and care she gave Jett throughout his life, and especially in his final days. Here is what Dottie wrote to us about Jett:
“We said goodbye to Jett on Tuesday. He had a tumor engulfing his greater trochanter, pelvis. It was getting more painful for him to walk or sit or lay down. It was heartbreaking to watch and even more heartbreaking to let go. He gave us so much love and laughter. I have so many great pictures an am not good at loading them from phone to mail. So many wonderful memories. I miss him so and am so glad we shared his life. He was so good for all our family. Even the neighbors were stopping by to make sure Jett was OK when he wasn’t doing so well. Everyone loved him”.
Heather sent these adorable photos and this note to us: “I wanted to let you know how wonderful Dozer is doing! He still loves the barn and some of the horses actually think he’s a mini! We actually had one horse who thought he was her baby. When we took him away from her she cried for him!” Thanks to the Valle family for adopting Dozer.
Our own Lory Lynne and Eric take Jackson and Lily everywhere with them. Here is what Lory Lynne wrote to us. “We took the dogs on the Skunk Train that runs from Mendocino up into the coastal redwoods. It was such fun. Lily was either looking out the window or zonked in the aisle (the motion kept putting her to sleep, like a little kid). Jackson wasn’t so sure about the motion and noise at first, but with all the attention he was getting, he was so enjoying the heck out of it as well. He ended up sitting across from Eric, butt in the seat, or on top of me, just like he does on the sofa at home!”
Here are a few good snaps of their travels.
