Colleen Leahy

It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, Colleen Leahy. Colleen, along with Betty Thomas, founded Great Dane Rescue of Northern California in 1987. Their combined passion was to rescue Great Danes and find them the loving homes they deserved. Even as her illness progressed, Colleen continued running Great Dane rescue as she prepared her niece, Shannon, to take over the helm .

Thanks to all who have assisted Colleen in fostering, transporting, and donating much needed funds. Your support meant a great deal to her.
