Martin’s Kids

Martin Daly, a long time adopter, sent us these photos of three of his “kids”. The black and white girl is Jewel, who has passed. With her is her merle friend Barney, who was also a rescue Dane. Lucy is the big light brindle girl surveying her domain from her recliner! Martin adopted Barney (now 9 years old) when he came into our group and went through a toe amputation. He was so shut down, just shy beyond belief, and Martin came to see him and gave him the time he needed to allow Martin to get him into his car and adopt him. Martin has a history with us of adopting very shy/shut down Danes and making it all work out (thinking of his beloved Cinnamon, a fawn Dane mix who he had to carry to his car). Thank you Martin for providing these damaged Danes with a loving home. We share in your loss of your girl Lucy.
